Introduction
Fordefi is an institutional MPC wallet platform built for onchain finance. Founded in 2021 by Dima Kogan, Josh Schwartz, and Michael Volfman, the platform combines MPC self-custody with transaction simulation, granular policies, and approval workflows designed around how professional trading firms, funds, and treasury teams operate. More than 350 institutions use Fordefi across 100+ blockchains, and its clients collectively account for more than $64 billion in monthly transaction volume. Fordefi became part of Paxos in November 2025, pairing its DeFi-focused wallet infrastructure with Paxos's regulated blockchain platform.
To let clients discover, deposit into, monitor, and withdraw from yield without leaving the console, Fordefi integrated Yield.xyz as the infrastructure behind Fordefi Earn. Earn launched in September 2026 with 170 curated yield options from 25 institutional managers across 17 chains.
Challenges
- Putting assets to work meant leaving the custody platform, connecting to outside applications, and tracking positions across separate interfaces, with each destination adding another transaction path and another operating process.
- Managers, protocols, and networks each use different contracts, transaction sequences, and position lifecycles, so building and maintaining every integration in-house would multiply engineering work.
- Any solution had to keep every deposit and withdrawal inside Fordefi's existing policies, quorums, roles, and signing workflows, with Fordefi keeping sole discretion over which opportunities its clients see.
Yield.xyz Solution
- Unified earn infrastructure: One API provides opportunity data and position management across vault strategies, lending, staking, liquid staking, and restaking, with standardized metadata that lets Fordefi support every manager through a single product flow.
- Embedded flows: Yield.xyz constructs the unsigned deposit and withdrawal transactions. Fordefi then applies the organization's policies, screening, quorums, and role permissions and routes the approved transaction through its own signing and execution process.
- Shield verification: Shield checks each transaction against the verified template for that exact operation before it reaches Fordefi's approval flow, adding a second layer alongside Fordefi's own transaction enrichment and simulation.
- Curated by Fordefi: Fordefi decides which opportunities appear in Earn, and approved additions reach clients through the same interface without new protocol-specific builds.
Results & Impact
- Earn is available to every Fordefi organization. Clients open the Earn tab, choose a vault and network, browse the opportunities and current APYs for an asset, and deposit after reviewing estimated network fees.
- Every deposit and withdrawal remains a standard Fordefi transaction. Admins and traders transact according to the organization's configuration, while viewers can inspect positions without moving funds.
- Positions, rewards, and activity stay visible in the same interface, so teams can monitor a position or build a withdrawal without reconnecting to the underlying protocol.
- Fordefi can expand the catalog through the same integration. In September, Fordefi added Yuzu Prime vaults, which clients can enter through the same policy and approval workflows as the rest of the Earn catalog.
"Institutions should not have to choose between broader access to onchain yield and rigorous transaction controls. Through Yield.xyz, Fordefi can support staking, DeFi, and tokenized assets without building separate workflows for every protocol. Our clients can expand the opportunities available to them while keeping every transaction subject to the policies, approvals, and signing controls they already trust." — Josh Schwartz, CEO and Co-Founder of Fordefi.
Fordefi connects two sides of the institutional yield market. Trading firms, funds, and treasury teams use the platform to allocate capital, and many of the managers behind the available strategies use Fordefi for their own onchain operations. Fordefi Earn, launched in September 2026, gives those managers distribution inside the infrastructure their allocators already use, and gives allocators a curated catalog they can fund directly from existing Fordefi vaults. Managers reach institutional capital without asking clients to adopt another wallet environment or approval process.
