Yield Week In Review: July 28th, 2025

Your overview of weekly DeFi and staking yields, all in one place.

Institutional adoption and regulatory clarity continue to drive new interest in the industry as we see increased participation in staking and DeFi. With the GENIUS Act now signed into law, stablecoins have a clearer regulatory path in the U.S.—paving the way for compliant, yield-bearing USD. Meanwhile, LST and stablecoin yields hold steady across major platforms, and new opportunities are emerging in both fixed and leveraged yield strategies.

Yield Updates: Liquid Staking, Stablecoins, LPs, and More

Here are some of the top yield opportunities we’re tracking this week:

Stablecoin Lending

Stablecoin Vaults

Liquid Staking & Restaking

Protocol & Infrastructure Highlights

Lido x Saffron: Lido vaults now live on Saffron testnet, allowing users to trial DeFi vault strategies before mainnet rollout.

Kamino: Lowered USDC borrow rates by 2.16% and completed a formal Certora audit of Earn Vaults, boosting confidence in vault security.

Gearbox: Integrated hemiBTC via Hemi partnership—its first BTC-native yield strategy. Users can now lend BTC and use leveraged looping strategies.

Synthetix: sUSD depegged on Optimism but was restored after core contributors absorbed the dump. Yield incentives are now focused on Ethereum mainnet. v3 Mainnet Phase 0 is on track by month’s end.

xTAO: Set to list on Canada’s TSX Venture Exchange, raising $22.8M to fund onchain AI development for the Bittensor ecosystem. Yield.xyz recently announced support for TAO staking.

Telegram / TON Wallet: Live for 87M U.S. users. Brings swaps, transfers, and purchases directly into the app. A key step in Telegram's push to become a crypto-native super app.

EigenLayer: Launched multi-chain AVS support (starting with Base testnet), and introduced EigenCloud Redistribution to redirect slashed funds to users or coverage pools.

Governance and Ecosystem Developments

Lido: Disclosed and patched a dual-governance vulnerability with its new RageQuit mechanism. Fix undergoing testnet verification.

Aave DAO: Approved licensing its V3 codebase to Kraken’s new Ink L2. In return, Aave will receive a share of tokens and revenue. Also raised Pendle PT-USDe-31JUL25 cap from 300M to 350M as utilization hit 100%.

Frax: Governance approved FIP-432, delegating frxUSD compliance to FRAX Inc. A Temp Check is now live on shifting reserves toward frxETH and FRAX for stability.

Morpho DAO: Proposed allocating 200,000 OP tokens to grow Base vault TVL by $5M, backed by a security audit contest (now concluded).
